OPERATION GREEN LEAVES INC. 'S 2010
SPECIAL PROJECT
THE GREEN LEAVES VOLUNTEER VILLAGE &
ENVIRONMENAL CENTER IN ARCAHAIE, HAITI
Operation
Green Leaves has formed a partnership
with two organizations on this project,
Community Collaborations International
and Architect for humanity and of course
our most important partners, the
residents of Arcahaie. The team visited
the site last April and they are
preparing to go again at the end of
June.
The project site is about 45 miles from
Port-au-Prince. The site has a large
house and several concrete buildings
that are in need of repair but are
structurely sound. The site has a
swiming pool and a wide variety of trees
and plants. A river runs through it. Our
site visit took place at the end of the
dry seaon, but the river is part of a
major watershed.
The 30 acres plus property was
donated to Operation Green Leaves.
It's location and attributes make it
an excellent site for the project.
All we need to do now is raise the
funds to make our project a reality.
Members of the team who will
be going on this next mission is
Steve Boisvert of CCI, David Rizzuti
of CCI, Jennifer Siquiera from
Architect for Humanity,and several
volunteers. See pictures of our
last trip below:
During our upcoming trip at the end
of june,we will organize a meeting
to invite other groups to
collaborate with us. A workshop on
sustainable masonry will also be
organized. If you are inerested in
attending the meeting, please
contact Steve Boisvert at
collaborations@communitycollaborations.org
and for the workshop contact

The first Annual Walk for Haiti took
place on Sunday May 30th downtown
Miami. The event was organized by
Madafi Pierre of Earthquak Haiti
Inc. She was joined by Operation
Green Leaves Inc, Children of Haiti
Enhancement Foundation and many
caring citizens of Haiti and the
world. We wanted to send out the
message to the world that although
the cameras and intenational news
media have left Haiti & is no longer
front page news, we must never
forget the victims...they must be
remembered and we must insist that
out of the ruble and chaos comes a
new better and sustainable Haiti.
The walk was also organized to thank
all the individuals, agencies,
corporations and governents of the
world who open their heart and
pockets for Haiti. We were pleased
that Channel 10 sent their Camera to
cover the event. Earthquake Haiti
Inc. is providing assistance
currently in Leogane, they have
other projects planned. For more
details, please contact Madafi

Operation Green Leaves'
Quarterly Newsletter
Summer
2010

Dear
Members, Friends and Supporters:
It has already been 4 months
since the catastrophic
earthquake in Haiti last January
12th. Today I am still filled
with a feeling of helplessness
and sadness when I hear from my
grass roots partner orgnizations
on the ground in Haiti, credible
information about the slow pace
of the recovery and the
suffering of our brothers and
sisters. Too many people are
still burried under the ruble,
too many victims in the affected
areas are still waiting for the
basic assistance. In the news we
hear about many celebrities and
international corporations
bringing assistance to some of
the victims mostly in
Port-au-Prince. We are
grateful and appreciative for
their assistance and efforts,
but in the big picture it is a
very small percentage of what is
really needed. Millions of
people are still in need
of assistance. I am still
trying to understand why when
billions have been raised for
Haiti are the Haitian people
still suffering now more than
ever. Too many times in the past
Haiti has been in similar
situations... of course not of
this magnitude. My message today
is that Haiti had so many
devastating hurricanes in this
century alone, so much death,
lost of property. I find it
very disturbing that in the wake
of the earthquake there was no
sign of any emergency response
or disaster preparedness at all.
It seems that the authorities in
charge in Haiti have
not learned any lessons from the
past... too many broken
promises.
I am asking all Haitian Nationals
around the world and friends of
Haiti not to forget this time. Haiti
needs real change this time. Pay
attention, be informed, get involved
. The people of Haiti have suffered
for much too long. Let's turn this
crisis into an opportunity to
rebuild a new and sustainable
Haiti. The time has come for all
Haitian Nationals in Haiti and
around the world to unite and put
ALL
their differences aside and do what
is best for Haiti. You can take the
first step by visiting
www.haitiaccountability.org.
On September 29th, 2010 Operation
Green Leaves will celebrate its 20th
year anniversary, we are more than
ever committed to the sustainable
development of Haiti through
Reforestation and Environmental
Education of the Global Haitian
community. I am asking you to take
a second step today by joining
"Haiti's Green Revolution". visit
